Board of Censors - (BOC)

Dr Ron Bezic is experienced in cosmetic Surgery and is a Surgical Fellow of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine ACCSM. He is the current censor in chief of the college, Council member and past president of the ACCSM and a winner of the Prof Moore Gold Medal at the completion of his training.

His practice is based at Waratah Private Hospital and his scope of practice focuses primarily on Breast and Body contouring surgery.

He also provides expert opinions in cosmetic surgery to AHPRA, the HCCC and the DPP. He also acts as an assessor and hearing member for the NSW Medical Council and NCAT. 

Dr. Darryl Hodgkinson is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon with over 30 years’ experience in all aspects of aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. 

He has had over 75 articles published in peer reviewed plastic and reconstructive surgical journals and has been an author of many chapters in plastic surgical books as well as being a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is currently a member of multiple international and national societies and has been a faculty member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons for 10 years. He is also the former Surgical Dean of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine and a past president.
 
Dr. Hodgkinson is one of the few plastic surgeons in the world who holds two post-graduate degrees in plastic surgery, one from the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the other from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. 

He is also the founder of Operation Restore Hope, a surgical mission which has operated on over 2,500 children in the Philippines in the last 20 years with cleft lip and palate surgery. Operation Restore Hope is an Aus-aid endorsed charity for children with severe facial deformities and in 2017, he will be lecturing in Lusaka as a faculty member of the Swiss Charity - Second Chance. 

Dr. Hodgkinson is a keen yachtsman. He won the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race in 2013. He has been named ''ocean racer of the year 2014''. His other interests include snow skiing, adventure and travel. He is a devoted art collector and bibliophile.

Dr Michael Zacharia is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Head and Neck (Otolaryngology) and practices in Facial Plastic Surgery. He is also an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) physician. Combining the latest medical, surgical and health techniques, Dr Zacharia strives to deliver the best outcome for each and every one of his patients.

Dr Zacharia has completed OVER 4000 rhinoplasty procedures throughout his career and many other advanced surgeries. He is one of only four Australian surgeons that have completed advanced surgical training on Deep Plane Facelifting and Neck Lifting in New York City. Dr Zacharia’s ability to achieve natural looking beauty using facial rejuvenation has earned him a prestigious reputation amongst the public, as well as within the medical community.

Combining the latest medical, surgical and health techniques, Dr Zacharia strives to deliver the best outcome for each and every one of his patients.

Dr Rastogi grew up in the humble beachside city of Newcastle and proudly graduated from the University of Newcastle Medical School in 1989, which led to the beginning of his medical career.

After serving his residency in Australia, he travelled abroad to complete his advanced training in cosmetic surgery.

The advanced training was under liposuction surgeon, Dr Georgio Fischer MD, Docteur Jean-Luc Bachelier in Paris and the then President of the European Academy for Cosmetic Surgery, Dr Anthony Erian, where Dr Rastogi trained at the Cosmetic Surgery units of Guys Hospital London, (Nuffield House) and the Cambridge Private Hospital.

Coming back home to Australia, Dr Rastogi set up his clinic in the heart of Double Bay, Sydney, seeing patients from across Australasia and around the globe.

Dr Rastogi is a fellow and the President of ACCSM (Australasian College of cosmetic Surgery and Medicine), whose mandate is to raise standards and protect patients through advanced cosmetic surgery training and education.

Previously, for ACCSM, Dr Rastogi held many titles, such as the Vice President,
Chairman of the Academic, member of the Ethics Subcommittee and the former Director of Training, training other surgeons in cosmetic surgery. Still to this day, Dr Rastogi continues his passion for teaching and education, training fellows of the ACCSM.

Additionally, Dr Rastogi was also an AHPRA surgical supervisor (Australian Health
Practitioner Regulation Agency), and on the AMC Project Advisory Group (Australian Medical Council), which set the standards for cosmetic surgical training in Australia.

Graduating (UNSW) in 1977, Dr. Feiner had an earlier career in general medicine and surgery. 

Embracing the emerging field of minimally-invasive cosmetic medicine in 1999, training opportunities with internationally distinguished
cosmetic surgeons became an inspiration to develop a personal treatment philosophy founded on contemporary aesthetic principles.

Dr. Feiner is the current Medical Dean of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery & Medicine (ACCSM) and currently a member of the IMCAS Academy scientific board.

He has lectured and published on the topic of facial rejuvenation and liposculpture in Australia and internationally.

In 2012 he was invited to contribute a chapter for the book “Mini-Invasive Face and Body Lifts - Closed Suture Lifts or Barbed Threads”, titled:
 “Suture lifting and liposculpture integration in the creation of facial aesthetic harmony”

Dr. Feiner considers that the science and art of the aesthetic proceduralist incorporates all the skills, knowledge and experience gained in one’s personal medical career pathway.

He has a passionate interest in minimally invasive treatments for facial rejuvenation that includes liposculpture, PRP enhanced fat grafting, suture lifting, blepharoplasty, injectable fillers and muscle relaxants. 

Dr Charlotte Ying is a fully qualified, Australian-trained female practitioner performing cosmetic surgeries and graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland with Honours degrees in Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. 
After completing her internship in Dublin, she relocated to Australia to further her career. 

Dr Ying found her passion whilst working as a Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgery Registrar at The Canberra Hospital. There she excelled in her surgical skills and contributed to surgical education as a tutor for the Australian National University Medical School. Despite her busy working schedule, she managed to conduct and publish her researches on innovative treatments for finger injuries and hand diseases to present at conferences.

Dr Ying’s professionalism and hard work earned her an exclusive interview and a 2-
page article with The Canberra Times, titled “Surgeon Delivers Kindest Cuts”.

After several years of ‘fixing’ injuries, she realized that there is more to plastic surgery than reconstructing physical damage. “Not many surgical specialties concentrate on the patients’ needs and wants. I’m always interested in my patients’ stories, their experiences and how I can improve their lives as a whole.” Therefore in 2013, Dr Ying decided to enter the world of Cosmetic Surgery in Sydney, obtaining additional experience working alongside multiple renowned Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeons while completing her Fellowship training with the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine. With the vast amount of clinical exposure, she has gained immense knowledge and technical skills in both surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures.  Dr Ying is constantly striving for improvement and has both attended and spoken in international cosmetic surgery conferences.

Dr Ansulette Kay is a certified cosmetic physician located on the north side of Brisbane. Originally from South Africa, she immigrated to NZ, where she graduated from Medical School in 2003 (Otago University) after first obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Anatomy (1999, Otago University). 

Her love and appreciation of Anatomy led to an interest in Cosmetic Medicine, a career she pursued after moving to Australia in 2006. Her passion for providing a personalised experience led to the establishment of Youthful Concepts in 2011, where the emphasis is on building long term relationships rather than fast patient turn over. 

She is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine, currently holding the position of Assistant Medical Dean. She continually updates her knowledge and practical skills by attending numerous conferences and workshops in the field of cosmetic medicine, as well as overseeing and providing training for colleagues to raise the standards of care in Aesthetic Medicine in Australia. 

Dr Ansulette is passionate about promoting ethics in aesthetics – with the focus on identifying what’s in the best interest of our patients. Sometimes the safest, most ethical option might be offering no treatment, and cosmetic practitioners need to be empowered to have the ability and confidence to communicate this in an effective way – this starts with a good practitioner-patient relationship.

Dr Kwok Hao Lie finished his undergraduate medical studies at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom in 2009, and was awarded a PhD in Surgical Anatomy through the University of Melbourne in 2015.

His extensive and broad clinical training started in the UK in 2010 and has included major tertiary Australian hospitals in Victoria and New South Wales across a number of specialties as a senior resident or registrar - ICU, General Surgery and Trauma, Orthopaedics, ENT, Neurosurgery, and Plastic Surgery. 

After 6 years of registrar experience in Plastic Surgery across 10 different units, he joined ACCSM as a Surgical Trainee to complete his advanced Cosmetic Surgical training, and is honoured to serve on the Board of Censors as the Surgical Trainee Representative.

In his free time, Dr Lie enjoys portrait photography, travelling and hiking.

Dr. Vishal Verma is an accomplished medical professional with extensive training in general medicine and a specialized focus on dermatology. His journey began with rigorous training in the United Kingdom, earning him the prestigious MRCP (UK) qualification and the esteemed MRCGP (UK) )credential through General Practice training.

Recognizing the crucial role of dermatological care, Dr. Verma completed a clinical diploma in Dermatology from the University of St Mary's in London, establishing expertise in a broad spectrum of dermatological conditions. Since 2014, he has been a dedicated General Practitioner in Australia, providing comprehensive care across all aspects of general practice.

Dr. Verma's notable proficiency lies in skin cancer treatment, backed by specialized qualifications and training with the Skin Cancer College in Australia. Currently pursuing an Aesthetic Fellowship with the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine, he remains committed to offering accredited, safe, and evidence-based non-surgical cosmetic treatments.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Verma actively contributes to medical education, teaching 2nd-year students at the University of Sydney. Additionally, his involvement in a clinical trial on obesity with the University reflects his dedication to advancing medical knowledge and participating in cutting-edge research.

The ACCSM Consumer Advocate role is an important initiative to help understand patients’ issues, protect and promote the welfare and rights of patients.  The Consumer Advocate’s core objective is to enhance patient experience by proactively identifying patient needs and reporting to the Board of Censors as a voice for patients’.  The Consumer Advocate may influence systems, processes, and decision-making to help facilitate outcomes and minimise the likelihood of future problems.
 
The ACCSM understands there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution for patients, this role will provide recommendations on, and assist with, the development of policies or protocols for dealing with patient needs or identifying potentially vulnerable and disadvantaged patients.
