Laser for Tattoo Removal

Laser for Tattoo Removal Information

Procedure
Fading of decorative or cosmetic tattoos (e.g. eyeliner, eyebrow tattoos).
Length
Depends on size of tattoos - few minutes to half an hour. Series of treatments usually required.
Anesthesia
Usually local anaesthetic - either cream or injection.
Side Effects
Swelling or scabbing. Possible temporary or permanent colour change in skin. Scarring. Possible incomplete removal of tattoo.
Consideration
Not all tattoo colours can be removed by one tattoo-removing laser, so multi-coloured tattoos may need a variety of lasers. Some colours can't be removed. Some pale cosmetic tattoo colours will darken with laser treatment and require extra treatment.
